Derived from hatha yoga, Vinyasa differs in some important ways from its predecessor. Vinyasa yoga is often faster paced, and the asanas (postures) are linked together in a series of movements that are synchronized with the breath. Much emphasis is placed on the breath and the transition in and out of the asanas.
Jennie, a former NYC Paramedic and current Registered Nurse, began practicing yoga in the late 1990s. She completed the 200 hours teacher training at Sonic Yoga in New York City under the tutelage of Jonathan Fields and Lauren Hanna and the 500 hours teacher training course work with Laurie Ahlemann of the Long Island Yoga School.
Sol (pronounced “soul”) Yoga’s mission is to guide each yoga practitioner through the evolution of their yoga practice and help facilitate spiritual and personal growth. Whether an experienced practitioner or a beginner – all are welcome.
